In accordance with the statutory obligations set out under the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations, Christmasland facilitates—without charge—the acceptance of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment from customers strictly on a one-for-one, like-for-like basis. As an organisation committed to fulfilling all environmental responsibilities, we operate in full compliance with the relevant legislative framework. These measures, aligned with the Waste Management Acts and associated regulatory instruments, are specifically designed to promote the environmentally appropriate recovery, treatment, and disposal of electrical and electronic waste and to achieve mandated national targets.
Operational Mechanism of WEEE Take-Back
Waste batteries and Electrical and Electronic Equipment of the type retailed by Christmasland may be returned, without incurring any fees, to our designated warehouse facility (A63 DX27), subject to prior appointment. Customers are under no obligation to make a concurrent purchase when returning batteries. Upon receipt, materials are transferred by authorised WEEE operatives to approved recycling facilities for processing.
Important: All WEEE and batteries must be segregated for recycling and must not be disposed of within domestic refuse bins under any circumstances.
Take-back applies solely on a direct one-for-one equivalence, requiring the returned item to be of comparable nature and functional purpose to the newly purchased product.
Procedural Requirements for Returning WEEE and Batteries
Where the item being returned exceeds the scale of standard batteries, customers are required to present the equipment at our warehouse reception (A63 DX27) on a weekday between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM, following the provision of a minimum of 24 hours’ prior written or verbal notice.
Christmasland reserves the right to refuse any WEEE item that is contaminated or otherwise poses a demonstrable health or safety risk.
